Associate Prof. Y. Eren Kalay
Associate Prof. Y. Eren Kalay graduated from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, METU in 2001. He received his master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering department, METU in 2003, and completed his Ph.D. in the field of Materials Science at Iowa State University (USA) in 2009. He started his academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, METU in 2001. During his PhD studies, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University (USA). He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Ames Laboratory of Ministry of Energy, USA for 1 year. Assoc. Prof. Y. Eren Kalay has also been serving as the Assistant to the President and the Director of Career Planning Application and Research Center since 2011.
Associate Prof. Pinar Derin-Güre
Pınar Derin Güre was born in Ankara in 1979. She graduated from the Department of Economics, METU in 2001 and started working as an assistant in the same department in the same year. She received her Master’s degree in the same department in 2003 and went to the USA to conduct her PhD studies. She completed her Ph.D. at the Department of Economics, Boston University in 2009 and started to work as an Assoc. Prof. at Middle East Technical University in the same year. She is doing research in the fields of macroeconomics, public finance, defense economics and applied economics. In Academic Year 2014-2015, she was a visiting fellow in the Department of Economics, Dartmouth College, USA. In 2015, she received “Young Researcher Award” presented by the Middle East Technical University. In addition to her academic activities, she initiated a mentoring program in the Department of Economics in 2013, which matches students with alumni. This program is still in progress. Moreover, since 2015, she has been organizing a series of seminars, where business lines are introduced and undergraduate students have the chance to talk with Economists and METU alumni. Moreover, she has been the editor of annual bulletin published by the Department of Economics. She was a visiting fellow in the Department of Economics at Boston University from 2018 to 2019.
Prof. Dr. Oya Yerin Güneri
Prof. Dr. Oya Yerin Güneri is a professor in the Department of Educational Sciences, METU. She completed her undergraduate, master’s and PhD. degrees in the Department of Educational Sciences, Guidance and Psychological Counselling Program at METU. Her research interests include psychological counseling and guidance at university level, psychological needs of university students, factors affecting learning, teacher-student communication, career development and counseling. She is also the Director of the Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching at Middle East Technical University.
Associate Prof. Adil Oran
Adil Oran, who was born in Ankara in 1971, spent his first years traveling around the world due to his father’s profession. He completed his high school education in İzmir Bornova Anatolian High school, completed his undergraduate degree in the department of Economics, METU. After working as a research assistant at the Department of Business Administration, METU for two years, he completed his master’s and doctoral degrees in Finance at Texas Tech University. Prof. Adil Oran turned back to METU in 1999, and since 2012, he has been the director of GİMER Entrepreneurship Center of METU. He has been contributing to the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems of METU, Ankara and Turkey. He has been giving lectures on Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Finance and Financial Accounting in the department of Business Administration, METU. In addition to his lectures and research studies, he enjoys providing counselling and mentoring to entrepreneurs.
Associate Prof. Yiğit Yazıcıoğlu
Yiğit Yazıcıoğlu graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, METU in 1997 and started working as a research assistant in the same department in the same year. He completed his master’s degree in the same department in 1999 and went to the USA to conduct his PhD studies. He received his PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Illinois in 2005. In the same year, he started working as a lecturer at Middle East Technical University. Since 2006, he has been an Associate Prof. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, METU. His research interests include Solid Acoustics, Vibration and Acoustics in Biological Tissues, Vehicle Dynamics and Automotive Engineering, Dynamics and Control Theory, Fluid-Structure Coupled Analysis, Rigid & Flexible Multibody Dynamics, Robotics, Dynamics of Nanostructures.
