Based in Istanbul, KOMBA offers a wide range of high-quality data, research, and engagement services in and around corporate governance, executive remuneration, and ESG.
As Glass Lewis Europe Limited and KOMBA, we are hiring Proxy Research Associates with Danish, Swedish, Dutch, French, Finnish, German, Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish or Swedish working remotely based in Turkey with the option of on-site attendance in KOMBA offices, in Istanbul, on a fixed term contract of approximately four months.

Position Description:
As Glass Lewis Europe Limited, we are hiring Research Associates in Turkey on a fixed term contract starting from February 2023 in collaboration with our business partner KOMBA. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong analytical writing skills, have an interest in ESG and executive remuneration, and have the desire and ability to learn quickly.
Research Associate will work with the research team to produce unbiased, independent research (Proxy Papers) covering listed companies, by:

Reviewing meeting materials disclosed by publicly listed companies (e.g. annual report, notice of meeting);
Analysing information with regards to corporate governance practices;
Summarising meeting proposals and providing voting recommendations based on best practice.
The research will cover the following areas:

Governance: meeting proposals for board of director elections, committee memberships, environmental and social issues, skills matrices, auditor appointments, etc.
Remuneration: meeting proposals for executive pay practices, incentive plans, pay-for-performance, etc.

  • Requirements
    Who is the ideal candidate?
    Qualifications:
    A degree in Business, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Languages or other related field of studies.
    Languages:
    Excellent English reading and writing skills
    Reading competency in at least one of the following languages is an advantage: Danish, Dutch, French, Finnish, German, Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish.
    Competences:
    This position is particularly relevant to candidates wishing to pursue careers in economics, financial services, accounting, compliance, corporate law, governance and public policy
    Strong analytical skills
    Task and time management skills
    Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst paying attention to detail
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team; personable
    IT skills; proficiency in MS Office, Excel and online research tools
    Experience in qualitative research or corporate governance is considered an advantage.
