Frontend Engineer | Baryonic Space

We are interested in candidates with frontend development experience with an emphasis on geospatial applications.

Responsibilities:

Design and build real-time map based interfaces for performant rendering and visualization of a diverse set of high volume sensor data
Design responsive UI
Implement new features and maintain existing software across all Baryonic Space software stack
Collaborate with backend engineers and a cross-functional engineering team to integrate services
Collaborate with operators and end-users to enhance the UI/UX of the products
Write and maintain documentation for the software stack


Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent understanding of web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and TypeScript
Development experience with React
Hands-on experience with JS build tools like Vite or Esbuild
Knowledge about frontend testing, bug-tracking and performance profiling
Familiarity with Websockets and good understanding of REST APIs
Development experience with MapLibre or another web-mapping library
Good understanding of containerization technologies (especially Docker) and hot-reloading
Good understanding of Linux-based OS
Experience with Git and CI/CD


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with geospatial data (vector, raster, geojson, shapefile etc.) is a huge plus
Experience with raster/vector tiles and tileservers
Experience with Turf.js
Hands-on experience with WebGL is a huge plus
Htmx knowledge is a plus
Deck.GL, Kepler.GL, CesiumJS experience
Experience with mobile development (iOS and Android)
