We express a genuine interest in candidates who bring valuable experience in RF system-level design, antenna design, and RF electronics design to our team.
Key Responsibilites:
RF system design
Develop detailed link budget analyses for RF systems
Support selection and design of antenna technologies
RF path design from 30MHz to 18GHz including LNAs, LNBs, filters, diplexers, splitters, oscillators, switches, directional couplers etc.
RF system dimensioning and power analysis
Collaborating closely with DSP, FPGA, system/hardware/software engineers to design and validate RF systems
Some Systems Engineering work to guide the ultimate design of platforms and products
Workbench level work consisting of testing, integration, assembly, and prototyping.
Testing components and RF systems using equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power meters, etc.
Creating simulation models of RF systems to evaluate the appropriateness of designs
Writing and maintaining technical documentation for RF design and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree (or better) in RF or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience with RF systems and hardware.
In-depth knowledge of RF systems and components up to 18 GHz.
Knowledge of RF/Microwave COTS vendors.
In-depth understanding of link budgets and RF concepts such as noise figure, noise temperature, SFDR, IP3 etc.
Proficiency with fundamental RF test equipments such as spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers.
Familarity with antenna designs and their basic parameters.
Basic understanding of channel effects such as Doppler, multipath, phase noise, fading etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Programming proficiency in Python
Experience with open source simulation software such as 4NEC2.
Experience with modeling and simulation software such as HFSS, ADS, and CST.
Proficiency with electrical design software, such as Altium is a plus.
Knowledge of over the air interfaces and modulation/multiplexing schemes.
Previous experience with Software Defined Radio technology is a huge plus.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC.
Basic soldering capability.
